MARAIS luxury boutique launched their second store in
Melbourne last night offering its guests the first glimpse of the new
luxuriously designed store carrying brands such as Givenchy, Balenciaga,
Celine, Alexander McQueen, Rick Owens, Lanvin, Balmain and more.
The two-story retail store located on 73-77 Bourke Street
was designed by F2 Architecture, BUILT, DCG and Flaming Beacon.
The use of materials, and the combination of their
colours and textures, created a luxurious mood from entry to exit. Marble, white
quartz crystal and glass were used extensively across the store.
While asking some of the staff about the space, we
were told that the store’s concept was to make its customers feel like they
were in a castle, which was evident through details such as some of the
lighting fixtures.
We were also told that some of the features, such as
the suspended crystals from the mirrored ceilings, took about six months to
source and install. They also shared that the designs of the display units were
a collaborative effort between the architects and the fashion designers, such
as Rick Owens.
